Moso during his career has been on the AKC World Team twice, has been to the finals in NADAC, AKC, & USDAA. He has left an impression wherever he has gone.
When I started training dogs 20 years ago I was taught by yank and pull. Before it was popular I decided to radically change to have three simple rules. I wanted me and my dogs to have fun training. I wanted me and my dogs to have fun trialing. I wanted my dogs to be good enough that people enjoyed watching them perform. I figured if I did that good things would happen. Moso to date is the crowning glory of that philosophy for me. He was always a joy to run, and he frequently got complements from friends and strangers. That was the best reward.
It is hard to decide when to stop showing a dog. Moso is still a happy dog that is almost 12 years old and is still fast. He still can get NADAC DRI +100s which is hard for many dogs even in their prime. With that he can also harm himself at any run now, or at least get rather sore and cranky. While he is still happy, it is time to pass the baton to his son, Primo, and our other dog, Airo.
